Reflexology is not a "foot massage"...
It is based on the principle that your feet are mini-maps of your entire body. Reflexology works through the nervous system. Each foot has over 7,000 nerve endings. By applying alternating pressure, using finger and thumb techniques, I am able to work the reflex points that correspond to every system, organ and gland in your body. Working these points helps break up congestion and deposits that have built up around these nerve endings and sends messages to the corresponding body part so your body can heal itself.
Receiving regular reflexology treatments may be one of the best ways for you to take responsibility for your own health. Although not a substitute for conventional medicine it compliments it perfectly!
WARNING: When choosing a reflexologist, always ask how many hours of reflexology training the therapist has had and if they are certified by ARCB (American Reflexology Certification Board). There is a problem with Massage Therapists offering reflexology with only a few hours of training and human traffickers using reflexology as a cover. Your reflexologist should have at least 200 hours of training in reflexology.
Reflexology reduces stress and induces deep relaxation. It enhances circulation so the body can help cleanse itself of toxins. All of the systems of the body can be balanced so the body can heal itself. I have personally been able help relieve neck, back, and shoulder pain, whiplash, restless leg syndrome, Morton’s neuroma, various foot pain, insomnia, arthritis pain, sinus congestion, knee and elbow pain, Crohn's symptoms, type 2 diabetes symptoms, stress and anxiety.
There are hundreds of studies proving the benefits of reflexology on many other conditions some of which are: infertility, menstrual cramps, PMS, Rheumatoid arthritis, Chronic Fatigue syndrome, post operative pain, acne, psoriasis, eczema, migraines, fibromyalgia, many heart conditions, glaucoma, toxic deafness, and the list goes on…
Most studies are based on at least 10 sessions of reflexology
Reflexology: I offer half hour and one hour foot reflexology sessions and one and half hour foot / hand combo reflexology sessions. I recommend a half hour treatment for children and the elderly and an hour for most everyone else. A half hour treatment can also be substituted for an hour session when receiving reflexology frequently.
Essential Oils: I offer a customized essential oil "add-on" treatment to your reflexology session. I select oils to benefit your health by energy testing you. I diffuse the oils so the benefits of inhaling them are achieved. I also add them to the natural foot salve I use during the reflexology treatment.
"Just as relaxing as a full body massage" - A comment I get frequently
I have a tranquil studio set up at my home in Woodinville. You will be laying on your back, fully clothed (except your feet) on my amethyst filled Far Infrared heating pad (See below for the benefits of this pad). If you need to be propped up, just let me know. I will make sure you are very comfortable before we start. On your first visit there will be some paperwork that needs to be filled out then I will spend the full time working the reflexes on your feet. Don’t be surprised if you drift off as it is very relaxing! Your body will be continuing to balance after you leave so you should plan on resting the rest of the day and you will probably get a great nights sleep!
About the Amethyst Far Infrared Heating Pad
Most places charge extra for this experience but I include it with every session unless you request otherwise.
The far Infrared energy penetrates deep into the cells stimulating the natural process of removing waste and toxins. Blood flow is increased and the stored waste is carried away. The negative ions that the gemstones give off slow down brain waves which can relieve stress and anxiety. The heat feels wonderful and penetrates deeper and without the toxic EMFs of a traditional heating pad. Laying on this pad is a treat itself.
Just a regular cleaning is all that is expected. There is no need to get a pedicure before your session!
For long standing health issues, multiple sessions one week apart and no more than 2-3 weeks apart is recommended. For general health and balancing once a month is recommended.
After a session you should proceed with a gentle schedule and stay adequately hydrated.
Common Immediate Responses:
“The Healing Crisis”
A term to describe a turning point in the body marked by a sudden change in symptoms in which the person moves towards better balance or cure. This can last for a day or two.
Common Symptoms of a “Healing Crisis”
Almost everyone that is often ticklish do not find themselves ticklish during a treatment.
I can still give you a wonderful reflexology session with one of these ailments but please let me know ahead of time if you suspect you have a plantar wart or toe fungus of any kind. I can either cover the area with a band aid or I can wear gloves.
If you cancel within 24 hours you will not be charged for your appointment. After 24 hours you will be charged for half of your session. That said, we all have things that come up so your first late cancellation I will not charge for.
